Jennifer Ross is a Michigan and California Licensed Attorney, and the Owner and Founder of JRBA.
Jennifer founded JRBA with the aspiration and intention of bringing top quality business affairs service to agencies, marketers and content creators on an independent basis. A creative at heart, Jennifer was driven to Entertainment Law and Management by her desire to support creators and artists to achieve their visions. Joining the Business Affairs department at TBWA\Media Arts Lab (MAL) was Jennifer’s first foray into the advertising industry and opened the door that led her to work with over 70 advertising agencies and production companies. It was her success there that allowed her to personally work on several Super Bowl commercials as well as launch products for brands such as Apple, Samsung and Google.
As the founder and owner of JRBA, Jennifer not only manages the day to day of the business, but also leads her team on all aspects of Business Affairs and Legal, and is known for providing white glove service during celebrity negotiations from scouting talent, negotiating deal terms, drafting and executing long form contracts through on set management.
Jennifer also oversees and advises her team on all projects involving Master Service Agreements and Scopes of work, Celebrity and Influencer Talent Agreements, Production/Photographer/Videographer Agreements, Complex licensing and IP acquisitions, Reviewing creative for copyright, trademark and right of publicity concerns, FTC compliance, script review, Master/Synchronization music licensing and union implications, SAG-AFTRA and non-union forecasting and compliance, consulting on basic agency operating agreements, vendor agreements, employment and independent contractor agreements; Entertainment acquisitions and co-producer deal structures, and branded entertainment and diversifying between SAG-AFTRA collective bargaining agreements.
In addition to her time at JRBA and MAL, Jennifer was a legal extern at the Screen Actors Guild, Associate Director of Business Affairs at Rubin Postaer and Associates (RPA) and General Counsel and Director of Business Affairs at Pitch in Culver City, California whom she retained as her first client upon opening JRBA.
Jennifer graduated from Seton Hall University where she acquired both her BA in Film Studies with a minor Musical Theatre, and her MBA in Marketing and Management, within four years. Jennifer then went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School through the accelerated two year program, SCALE.
Jennifer lives in Michigan with her husband and two children, where she is a council member for the State of Michigan Bar Association for Arts, Communication, Entertainment, and Sports, and is the President of the Birmingham Public Schools Parent Advisory Committee.
